Art Meets Preservation

Installation view of Dress Forms at the Wentworth-Coolidge State Historical Mansion in Portsmouth NH

2011
This is an image of an installation created for the exhibition Art Encounters Preservation held at Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion State Park in the fall of 2011. The two sculptures were inspired by mannequins, dress forms, and the memory of handmade clothing. They were built for this attic space as a way to play with memory and the idea of past activities such as hand-sewn clothing, as an increasingly forgotten practice.
